Soma Is Leaving... and We’re in Denial

It’s true. Our cocktail-slinging, beer-savant, wine-whispering wizard Soma is officially graduating from our little wine bar kingdom to a fancy new gig. We’re thrilled for him. We’re also devastated. It’s fine. We’re fine.

This Saturday marks his last shift, and we need your help making sure he doesn’t sneak out quietly. Come by, order your most complicated cocktail (he loves that), ask him to pair beer with cheese (he’ll really love that), and raise a glass to one of the finest humans to ever grace our wine bar.

Whether you know him for crafting the perfect Negroni, recommending the exact wine you didn’t know you loved, or just being the guy who always made your night better — Soma deserves the biggest, loudest, most emotional goodbye party.

Drop in Saturday. Hug him. Toast him. Roast him (gently). Congratulate him. Then make him promise to come back and visit, or at least send wine.

Lest We Forget

This Anzac Day, we pause to honour and remember the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of all who have served.

The Spotswood Kingsville RSL will hold their commemorative service from 11am to 12pm. We encourage everyone who can to attend, reflect, and pay their respects.

We will be open from 12pm until 10pm tomorrow and as always, our doors are open with gratitude in our hearts, and we welcome you to join us as we continue the day with respect and remembrance.

Opened this beauty last night after work and WOW 👌 👏
The 2019 Jane Eyre Yarra Valley Pinot Noir is the definition of elegance with an edge. At first it's all cool and reserved, but give it a bit of time and it bursts open with aromas of ripe blackberries, plums and a hint of spices. On the palate it's a symphony of cherries, strawberry, undergrowth, balanced by lively acidity and fine boned tannins. Think of it as the Audrey Hepburn of Pinot Noirs - classy with a rebellious streak. If you haven't tried it yet, what are you even doing. Sad that this is my last 2019, it's going to get better in the next few years.
